These weather boarded and tarred structures date from the 17th century, before the Stade developed.  At this time, there was nowhere to spread the nets to dry so they were made as tall as possible to give Fisherman enough space.

Taken from the top of the West Hill lift and looking towards East Hill lift, At the top of the hill you will find The West Hill Cafe it  has become very popular due to its amazing sea views.
